Gimme

Back to loving birds...poor little butterfly, but the baby wren is happy.  A bit greedy, but happy.

This is a little 6x12 acrylic on stretched canvas.  SOLD

Remains of the Day

This is the view from a rock bluff in Snickett Park here in Sechelt.  You can see the Trail Islands in the distance.  On the advice of my husband, I included the crow.  I think the crow adds a certain something to the painting.

This is a 20x16" acrylic on stretched canvas.

Jubliation

This is another favourite thing to paint...arbutus.  I tried to bring a bit of winter colour into it.

This is an 8x24" stretched canvas.  $165.00

Lilacs and Laundry

On a smaller scale, this is a little fun scene. I actually love the fresh, clean smell of fresh laundry flapping in the breeze.  Lilacs, too, although they don't have to flap.

This is a 6x6" acrylic painting on stretched canvas.  $55.00

Summertime Blues

The dark days of winter will soon be behind us....I'm counting down to December 21 (it gets dark so early!) because gradually the days will get longer.  Well, all days are 24 hours, but more daylight will be welcome.  I've done enough fall and winter painting...my thoughts are turning to spring and summer. SOLD

New Broom

Saw this scene driving the back road out of Gibsons, late spring.  Had to pull the car over and take some photos.  The burst of yellow from the broom was amazing, as were the cast shadows on the rock outcropping.

This is a 16x16" acrylic painting on deep canvas.

Don't Fence Me In

I'm so far behind with posting...this is an 8x8" alley scene.  Alley scenes are some of my favourites.  Just happy little scenes that get me in the mood for painting.  SOLD

Swimming Hole

This is the third little 6x6" bicycle painting.  They were a nice change from birds.  SOLD

Surprise Bouquet

The gentleman that bought the first 6x6" bicycle painting, asked for two more.  I was happy to oblige.

Peddlin' Flowers

Just a little fun painting for a change.  6x6 acrylic on deep canvas.  I do a lot of birds this size, and thought something summery would work, too. SOLD

Summer Cottage

Long hiatus from posting, although I have actually been painting.  This is a 24x24" acrylic painting of this marvelous cottage in Lower Gibsons.  I loved the rose trellis and the great shadows it cast.  I tried to stay a bit impressionist and not over paint.  I was actually quite pleased with the way it turned out.

Home Tweet Home

I am so behind in posting!  This little fellow is safe and sound in his tree house.  I don't know if he's ready to fly...it's a big world out there.  Anyway, slowly getting back into painting.

This is an acrylic painting on 6x6" deep canvas.  SOLD

Sunday Morning

Nothing like painting an arbutus to put me in a positive frame of mind!  Plus, I mixed up some beautiful acrylic colours for my paint box...like getting a whole new set of crayons to colour with.

This is an 8x24" acrylic on canvas.  SOLD

Ray of Sunshine

I've been away moving my mom from Saskatoon to BC, so I have a bit of catching up to do.

This spring we had three Goldfinches flitting across the yard to use the bird bath.  Bright notes of colour.  A real pleasure to watch.

This is a 6x6" acrylic painting on deep canvas.  SOLD

Into The Light

I've been in Saskatoon so I'm a tad behind in posting.  I really like painting swans...you can sink so many soft colours into the shadows.

This is a 16x20 oil on deep canvas.  SOLD

In the Pink

Still hopeful that spring is just around the corner.  The crocuses are blooming, the forsythia is getting ready, but it is still wet, windy and on the cool side.  Promises for sunshine and warmer weather next week, so maybe we'll see this little guy in a tree...somewhere, maybe.

This is a 6x6 acrylic on deep canvas. SOLD

Wildflowers

Back in Arbutus Land...this is a cheery little arbutus painting with wildflowers.  We have an abundance of wildflowers in the summer, although on close inspection they might be mistaken as dandelions and weeds.  Ever the optimist....

This is an 8x24" acrylic painting on stretched canvas.  SOLD
