Yellow Snappers

Finished this little guy, and have another started.  Birds and flowers are some of my favourite things to paint because they're so cheery.

This is an 8x24" acrylic painting.   SOLD

Please contact me at jheyer@telus.net for the price.

Forest Green

I took this picture of Angus creek in the summer, in one of our provincial parks.  There was a green glow all around.  Lots of moss hanging down from the trees.  It was very magical.

This is a 24x30" acrylic, painted on wrapped canvas.  SOLD

Nesting Greens

Here's another little guy for our Christmas Show.   A suggestion was made to paint a little Santa Clause hat on him, and maybe I will.  SOLD

This is a 10x10" acrylic painting on cradled wooden panel.

Fur Tree

We've had a lot of problems with raccoons over the past year, so I'm not especially fond of them.  But, this little guy is awfully cute, so I may change my mind.

This is a 10x10" cradled wooden panel.  Wood is an interesting surface - there's no 'give' as there is with canvas, but it worked fairly well.

Winter Berries

This little chickadee is for our Christmas Show.  Nothing says Christmas like red berries.  Well, that's not true...a lot of things signify Christmas, but I liked the chickadee and I liked the berries.

This is an 8x8" acrylic, painted on deep canvas.  SOLD

This is a 20x20" acrylic painting.  $600.00.

Grey Creek Rumble

This painting is from a picture I took last October of Grey Creek.  The day was overcast, and it took me a while to figure out the light source before the painting finally came together.

This is a 24x36 acrylic.  $1500.

Everything Has Its Own Beauty

This painting is for our summer show.  It was challenging and took a while, but very enjoyable to paint.  Just an old moss-covered tree standing in the forest. SOLD

Happy Daze

And a daze is what I'm in...we've been staining the sundeck and parts of the house for the last two weeks.  Not as much fun as painting on canvas, and I'll be a happy camper when we're done.  So, keeping it simple with daisies.

This is a 10"x10" acrylic on deep canvas.  $135.00  SOLD

First of the Season

Daisies have to be my favourite flowers to paint.  They don't make demands like roses do, no thorns to sting you, and they're just plain cheerful!  And who doesn't love strawberries?  SOLD

This is acrylic on a 9x12 stretched canvas.

Hummer Resting

The hummingbirds are back in full force.  This is just a perky little painting showing one at rest.  I took a photo of a hummingbird hovering by the red tulips on the sundeck yesterday.  Well, by the time I got my camera it was gone, of course, but I got a picture of the tulips and the light, so will keep that idea for later.  SOLD

Best Seat In The House

This spring the municipality planted a number of flowering dogwoods as a beautification program.  Lucky us, we now have one in our front yard.  This little fellow has the best seat in the house.

It's almost magnolia season, again.  Birds and flowers - now there's a combination that can only bring a smile to your face.  At least, it does the trick for me.

This is 9"x12" acrylic on canvas.  $150.00 SOLD

Sticks and Stones

I have been somewhat remiss with uploading my files.  I see further changes have been made to the blog.  Sigh, I do wish they'd leave things alone once I've figured them out.  Anyway, this is for our 5 Mile Challenge at the gallery.  This was a picture I took of Chapman Creek, and I quite liked the way it turned out.  This is a 20x20" canvas, which was a nice size to work on.  I really will be more diligent and post my new paintings.

Acrylic on 20 x 20" deep canvas $550.00

White tulips in morning light.  Painting white can be challenging, but in my world that equates to a myriad of colours in the shadows.
10x10" Acrylic on stretched canvas.  SOLD

Home, Sweet

This little fellow is 8x8" oil.  I've been having fun painting birds and am sadly behind with posting.  However, will get back on track. SOLD
